Class Description

SEPTEMBER PROJECT FOCUS: Artist Study / Jean-Michel Basquiat & Andy Warhol This month, we’ll explore two artists who created very different, but equally impactful, artwork during the 1980s! During the first two classes, students will create a Basquiat-inspired scratch art project using crayons and oil pastels. In the final two classes, students will create colorful pop-art self-portraits using photography while revisiting color schemes. (*Students not interested in using photos of themselves will be able to bring in a keepsake item to be photographed instead) Throughout the month, kids will learn about art history, explore the unique styles of Basquiat and Warhol, and create their own colorful takes on the art of the 1980s! TIME: Every Friday, 9AM-10AM COST: $40 ($10 per session) - Sibling Discount: $32 ($8 per session) for additional children enrolled. ___________________________________________________________________________ These 1 hour sessions cover a wide variety of art, including hand-built pottery (clay), printmaking, painting, drawing, and more! Each class follows an interdisciplinary lesson plan based on homeschool curriculum. These lessons build on eachother, allowing for skill development over time. This is a DROP-OFF session. Parents are only permitted to join us for class on a pre-approved basis. If you would like to stay with your child during class, please reach out to us prior to arriving for class. **REGISTRATION IS BY THE MONTH** If you are unable to attend two or more sessions in a month, we advise waiting for the next month to enroll, as projects often take more than one class to complete. We do not offer partial enrollment or partial refunds if you miss a class, but we will do our best to catch your child up on what they missed.
