All pieces will receive a clear gloss glaze during the second firing which will make your piece food-safe and more durable.

  • Sip & Paint: Do I need to seal my painting?
We use acrylic paint at all of our Sip & Paint classes which does not require an additional seal once it is dry. If you would like to add a gloss seal for aesthetic purposes or to extend the life and durability of your painting, we suggest a spray-on Mod Podge.
  • Can I bring food and drinks?
You may not bring food to our adult classes, but you may bring drinks. We advise bringing a drink with a lid to reduce the risk of getting any clay dust in your drink, as our canvas tables always have some dried clay. *Fridge space IS NOT available for our general classes*
  • Will my child get messy?
Yes! The mudkitchen and finger painting areas are intended for sensory exploration. We highly suggest bringing a towel or change of clothes to clean off for the ride home.
  • Are food/drink allowed?
We do not encourage eating in the studio space during Mudbugs, as there are multiple messy areas and lots of little hands and feet running around. We also aim to avoid any potential food allergens being introduced with so many littles in one space. We highly encourage bringing a waterbottle or drink with a lid for your little one.
  • Will we take home any art from Mudbugs?
Yes, the craft activity station is intended so that you and your little one create a piece of art to take home! *All of the clay is intended for sensory exploration and WILL NOT go home*
  • Can we bring food/drinks to class?
Since class is so quick, we do not allow food or snacks at our homeschool lessons. We highly encourage kids to bring a water bottle to class, as we do not offer drinking water during class.
  • Do you do clay every month?
No, we do not. We like to work with a variety of mediums in class, but we do try to do a clay projects every 2-3 months. We encourage joining our Homeschool Facebook Group for a more in-depth look at what kids will be learning and creating each month: https://www.facebook.com/share/g/18PYSHghCX/
  • Will my child bring home art every class?
No, it is highly unlikely that kids will bring home art every Friday of class. The first class of the month we introduce the curriculum topic with a presentation then usually do a practice activity to encourage comprehension. Each month of class consists of 1-2 larger projects that typically take multiple classes to complete. All projects (other than clay) will go home by the last class of the month.
